1. In the outset of my ELA lesson, I can help my students establish a clear understanding of what they should know and be able to do by the end of the lesson.


2. I can write a student-friendly learning target that is directly linked to ELA standards and can be assessed within a single lesson.


3. I can give ownership of learning targets to my students by having them "check-in" throughout my lesson to assess how close they are to meeting the target.

4. I can set structures in place that will allow my students to provide evidence (written, digital, verbal, etc,) of meeting learning target(s) by the conclusion of the lesson.
